Behind the Brand
Our StoryÂ
When I left healthcare in November of 2020, I didn’t have a business plan or even know what I was going to do next. I just had this yearning to do something meaningful — something that, looking back, seemed to come out of nowhere.
But now I know it didn’t.
I truly believe God was putting something on my heart long before I could see what He was doing. Little thoughts about making natural products kept coming to mind. At the time, I didn’t know where those thoughts would lead — I just knew I needed to follow them.
Finding truly clean, natural products in our area wasn’t easy, and I had become much more aware of the ingredients we were using in our own home and on our skin. Eventually, those little thoughts turned into a question:
What if I learned to make them myself?
So, I did.
Woodsy Earth started with just three products made in the basement of our home. My husband has been beside me through it all — helping me make, package, haul, troubleshoot, build, and listening to more product ideas than he probably ever imagined he would.
This picture of us from 2021 takes me right back to those early days. We had no idea what Woodsy Earth would become. We simply kept learning, creating, and following where God was leading us.
As our little business grew, so did our product line. I began working more with traditional ingredients like grass-fed beef tallow and herbs, learning to infuse plants into our products and becoming even more intentional about what we use and why we use it.
Eventually, Woodsy Earth outgrew our basement.
In 2024, we moved production into our storefront in Harrisburg, Illinois — a place where we can handcraft our products while also serving the community that helped us grow.
Today, we create tallow-based skincare, magnesium products, beard care, bath and body products, and other simple wellness essentials. We still make everything in small batches, render our own tallow, and choose our ingredients with the same question we've asked from the beginning:
Would we feel good using this on our own family?
If the answer isn't yes, it doesn't belong in a Woodsy Earth product.
A lot has changed since those first three products in our basement, but the heart behind Woodsy Earth hasn't.
It’s still my husband and me.
It’s still handcrafted.
It’s still about family.
And it’s still about helping others make simple, intentional changes toward a cleaner way of living.
We’re incredibly grateful for every person who has supported our little family business and allowed Woodsy Earth to become something far bigger than we could have imagined when we first started.
Thank you for being part of our story.
